Fresh off Rap-A-Lot, Yukmouth releases his very first solo album under his new Smoke-A-Lot Records deal with
The West Coast Don. Scheduled for a July 14th release, Yuk's 5th studio album is a treat to fans who waited over 4 years for last year's Million Dollar Mouth Piece. The time gap between albums has become shorter with his new deal--putting Yuk more in control of his release schedule.
Baycentrik.com was given an exclusive listen to
The West Coast Don.
The album features appearances from artists such as Keak Da Sneak, Crooked I, Ray J, Mac Dre, Glasses Malone, Baby Bash, T-Pain and his usual camp, The Regime.
The 18 track
The West Coast Don includes such melodic songs as
Blind Livin, which features Yuk and Tha Realest spitting over a mellow guitar riff, a rock-rap fusion done right.
Yukmouth gives us his ode to the O, on
Da Town, full of autotune singing and Keak Da Sneak's raspy signature flow.
Other notable songs include
Big Meech, which pays homage to the incarcerated BMF boss, and
Ain't Nobody is a classic anthem in which Yuk claims his position in the game, topped off with a sample of Young Money's Lil Wayne on the hook. The late Mac Dre also joins Yukmouth and Dru Down on the mellow, macked out cut
Pimpin 4 Real.
