How'd you get the name Lil C-Style?I got the name Lil C-Style from my homeboy, Big C-Style from the streets.
Whats the reason behind naming your album Blacc Balled? The reason why my album called Blacc Balled, basically because my rap hasn't changed and for me to be coming out now with my record label and all the people interested in my music, with my fanbase, and people know that I had a fanbase, what was the problem of puttin me out? So they had they option, I was signed to a few major labels, Death Row, I was signed to Snoop's original label Doggystyle, I was one of the original Eastsidaz too, you know. It's like I never really got a chance to come out. It was a buncha bullshit, I was signed to Noo Trybe, and 19 St. Records, with my homeboy Big Style, but you know they didn't really push our shit like that. It was like, somebody was behind the scenes of sayin somethin, cause then all the music we was making, it was like muthafuckas turn around with them same people and make music and they shit blow up, and they sayin either the same shit we sayin, or some shit better, or some shit wacker, or vice versa, but they still got out there. Why we couldn't get out there?
Do you have any group albums you got planned to drop besides the LBC Crew?Nope other then that thats it. I'm trying to work on Rocchead Recordz, and puttin out Lil Style albums. Every know and so often like Jigga.
You puttin out any mixtapes or plan to be on anyone else's mixtapes?Yeah I'm puttin out some mixtapes, I'll probly be on a couple mixtapes too. For now I'mma focus on making albums. I gotta get out there I'm still like late. I been in the game since like 93,94, I'm still late to the game. I shoulda been had 3-4 albums, but everything happens with its suppose to happen.
What took you so long to put out your first record?Because I wasn't focused on rap, rap is not my first alternative in life, I'm originally a hustla, and just a jack of all trades, I can do all kinda things to generate a dollar, it don't neccessarily have to be just rap. So I never looked at rap like it could really pay me.
How many tracks did Daz produce on your first solo?Actually Daz produced like 1 track on my album.
So who handled the rest of the album?A guy buy the name of Co. Basically he a up and coming producer, and I got a track, "Blacc Balled" was produced by Fredwreck. Then I got a song called G Style that was produced by Goldie Loc and the Eastsidaz, Goldie Loc and Tray Dee.
So with Co, are you sticking with the same type of sound you've had before or are you switching it up?I'm not tryin to change up no sound, I never really got a chance to say my sound, so I gotta come with how I been comin, and thats just my character peroid. I haven't had a chance to rap about nothin else yet, cause I'm still trapped in Lil Style's body and Lil Style's lifestyle so thats what I'm still rapping about.
How many more albums do you plan to drop in the future?Probly about 5 or 6, that just right now. But really, I'm lookin at this one like its my last. But due to the success and the people, and how the public react to this album determines how many albums I do, not just rushing it. I got my own label. Rocchead Recordz. That name came from my homeboy from my neigborhood, his name was Rocc he passed away, died in a car accident and went through the windshield. He was one of my homeboys always told me that he wanted me to rap and I should rap and that I was tight. Thats another reason why I'm rappin' because alot of people pushed me and tell me that I should do this shit, and that I should rap and that they like how I rap. Another thing I'm not in it just for the money, I'm in it cause people want me to rap too. Thats love, I got a whole project for em, a real project. Not some put together shit, rappin just to be rappin, and I'mma sell this shit and see what it do. No I got hard sweat and tears put in my album.
Why did you decide to go to Daz and release your first album on GA?Daz came to me. Cause everywhere he go people still ask him about me too. Daz everywhere with Snoop Dogg, he travelling everywhere by hisself, he be out there with So So Def, Jermaine Dupri, muthafuckas lookin for me everywhere. So he like, Lil Style, he need to do an album, plus Daz know me, its not like Daz just oh I know Daz because of rapping, I know Daz before this rap shit, Daz was basically like, "Man Lil Style, you can rap, stop bullshittin do an album nigga, we press it up I'll do this, I'll do that, I'll help you, we'll be partners nigga, I ain't trying to fuck you we just gon' do this shit. And thats what he did, he gave me a label deal and let me run with this Rocchead Recordz, and he pressing up as many albums they can ask for we gonna press em up.
So do you plan to stay independent with Rocchead or would you ever go major?A major gotta give me a major amount of money, then we can sign a major deal. Like 3-4 albums, but other then that, they can kiss my ass. I'll stay independent because I know what I'mma do independent. I know I'm independently known around this muthafuckin' whole world. I wouldn't give a fuck if from the Longbeach port all the way to New York, muthafuckas know me. So it dont even matter, I can push my albums everwhere. Plus I got Style, I'm orignally from Longbeach, as far as my music I kick original Longbeach shit. You know, and I'm from California all my life, born and raised on the West Coast.
Whats your relationship with Big C Style?Thats my homeboy, thats my big homeboy, my nigga, that's my ace boon coon. All that shit.
Are you gonna be apart of that LBC Crew project on Rawway?Of course, I gotta be on that. Anything that's apart of all of us, make that shit happen, Techniec album, everything.
How much material do you have recorded at the moment for some future releases?I got shit but being that I don't even know how I'mma be, I won't even say what titles and stuff is and all that, but just say I got some shit ready. I got a second album already lined up ready to go. But its not recorded or nothin' but the ideas and everything, it's all me and I don't want nobody else out there thinkin they're me and take my shit before I can even get Blacc Balled off the ground, muthafucka be stealing my second album. But I got a title for it and everythang. I'm workin on a documentary and all that too, I'm finna try to put a video together for Blacc Balled, I'm gonna do the DVD thing, but before I do the DVD thing, I'm finna get this video done and shot.
So what else is gonna be on that DVD?Basically the Lil C-Style life story, the episodes wit the Dogg Pound muthafuckas never mentioned about, all shit like that, real footage, what I'm doin right now, how I'm still out here on the Eastside of Longbeach, how I still try to fuck with muthafuckas in the hood, and try to bring out other people, and just be a business person in this shit because thats what you gonna have to be. Even though I'm paving the way for my company cause who else gonna represent my company how I want it to be represented? Now mothafuckas know they gotta come to my company rappin' just as hard as me and rappin' even harder then me, and just tight to where I be like, yeah I'm fuckin with you and I wanna put you out. Cause I don't mind puttin somebody out and gettin' some money and then gettin they money too.
About how many songs did you do that weren't released at Death Row? Maybe full albums?Hell nah! Man, me personally, I'm as grimey as they come homie, I'm not a buster, im not a punk ass muthafucka, I'm far from a bitch, nobodys gonna make me go rappin all off, using my brain to the fuckin' fullest and then don't be paying me or puttin nothin out, or thinkin that I give a fuck because they got a big ass studio, and you can go in there and just rap, rap rap, you can rap all day. Fuck your studio, and if I don't have no money, then I ain't sayin shit. And that's the attitude I had when I was on Death Row. Like you muthafuckas don't wanna give me no money, muthafucka I ain't doing no songs, I don't give a fuck straight up. Every time I turn around a 2Pac album comin' out, shit, I'm lookin right now still to this day 2pac albums and shit still coming out. I probly did like one other song homie, on Death Row that hey had that they never put out, or maybe I didn't do nothin, I just remember doin a song on Easy Bein A Soldier When It Aint No War, when me and Snoop was havin our conflict and on Too Gangsta For Radio when that shit boiled over and it continued, other then that fuck no. And to set the record straight and to clear the record, for muthafuckas thinkin that Suge had a muthafucka over there dissin Snoop, nobody never pumped me up to diss nobody, anything I ever said on wax about anything or anybody I said it because of my own mind cause I think for myself. Nobody fuckin thinks for me, I aint no puppet.
Wasn't there already a LBC Crew album recorded on Death Row?Yup, blacc balled, Suge didnt want it to happen, see, prime example of bein blacc balled. We all black though, mothafuckas can't look out for another mothafucka knowin everybody got a god damn family, thats why mothafuckas just stayin on they own. Thats why I got Rocchead Recordz and I'm independent, and i campaign that shit so hard, people all over the world already know Rocchead Recordz. It's nothin.
What's your thoughts on Suge Knight nowadays?I don't have no thoughts on him, I don't worry about him, i don't give a fuck. I don't care about no Suge Knight, no who got beef with who, I ain't into shit, I ain't got beef with nobody unless I'm visible with them people or seein them people. I don't see Suge and if I did see him, we'd respect each other man to man, we never had no conflict or none of that. Even though I feel he don't like me or didnt like me, but we ain't ever had no conflict, plus I'm tied in with street shit too, my uncle from Suge Knight neighborhood. My uncle Double OG from over there named Stanley Pit. He ain't no joke, know what I'm sayin, so It's like, mothafuckas only do that shit to who they can do that to, so muthafuckas know when they can easily be touched too and everybody can play the touching game, nobody gets to playin, and its all just respect. I dont care, I'm not scared of nothin, thats real shit. I don't care bout what Suge do or none of that shit, I been left Death Row, I didn't complain i got some money from over there, not alot of money, know what I'm sayin. Maybe about $30,000, probly put up some W9's on me but that ain't shit, I ran through that shit just like I got it, fast then a mothafucka.
What made you decide to stay on Death Row?I never was on Death Row I was signed to Snoop first. Then I signed to C Style's record label, then we started doin' other shit, I think i even went back to Snoop again and tried some more shit, and it was Snoop and Style record label called Beach City. Then from there I still was like gettin shifted around and just bullshittin, so then I fucked around and see my homebody Young Swoop, and that nigga was like come to the studio and I kicked a verse that I had on the street underground song called "Dog Killa," that was the original song and I took a verse from that and thats what I made the Easy To Be A Soldier song out of. Then from there they wanted to sign me, so they gave me a $20,000 check, that was gravy, but then it wasn't finna be no come to the studio and just rap, rap, rap, I don't do that. What's the project, I wanna know what's the deal, what's goin on, half the time I'm at the house playin Playstation. Right up in the mothafucka talkin bout go in the booth, No. Oh you need to do this, I ain't doin shit I need some money, I'm broke. Then I had a gambling problem too, so that money wasn't shit, I'll shoot that shit. On the concrete.
What was your beef with Snoop, that made you take them shots in songs? That shit go back so far as beef with Snoop, I can't even really say me and Snoop didn't really have beef we just had a lack of communication. That was our problem, and then it was alot of other mothafuckas sayin shit to Snoop, they say I said, or then muthafuckas come back tellin me shit Snoop said, so it was like, escalated from there to wax, but it wasn't physical or no drama, none of that.
What about LIl' Half Dead?Lil Half Dead is Lil Half Dead, man he gonna be the same mothafucka regardless, I wouldn't give a fuck if 30 years from now he's still gon be HD the HD he is, but beefin with him, never really had no beef with him either. I see him, I might be at the same party as him, we speak, we exchange words, whatever, hey hey wassup, yeah, holla, shit like that. We don't really kick it or none of that, we don't club together and all that shit.
Hes locked up isn't he? Do you know for how long?Yeah, yeah. Nope I don't even know.
Who would you work with in the future? The fans wanna see you work with Battlecat sometime.I'm willing to work with anybody thats willing to work with me, that's trying to make some good music, and that sound good with me. But on some real shit, a muthafucka like, I done got high with him, smoke weed with him, Scarface, but we never did no music together, and like right now, I feel Scarface a G, I'll fuck with Scarface, and I gotta do somethin with my boy Too Short, before he stop fuckin with the rap shit.
Would you ever work with any other Bay Area artists?Yeah, I wanna get down with E-40 too, thats my nigga, I got love for 40, and B-Legit. I know them cats, We smoke bud and drink together, did movin, did it poppin.
How come you haven't done any appearances or tried to get an album out sooner for the past few years?Because I pushed rap to the back, I be focused on alot of other shit, besides this rap shit. I don't let this rap shit be like gettin me, I gotta be on this or, fuck that, as long as I'm making some money to pay my bills and shit, I don't give a fuck. if this rap shit blow up in my face, and I get to sell all these records and Blacc Balled #1 shit on the top shelf, I'm not gonna change, only thing gonna change is I'm gonna have some money. So then, the money, If I got the money and I see how I got it through the rap business, then I'mma stick to this rappin. But if I don't get any money with this rappin shit, I'm wastin my time, because life goes on. Life is not just a rap album, you can go top or you can bombshell, you can go independent though, and I'm gettin' all my money, you know what I'm sayin, that I'm suppose to get. I'm not gettin just that average rapper check, I'll get all the money. And then open up doors for other muthafuckas, and show em how I did it, cause I really don't wanna have no big record label, I wanna have Rocchead Recordz and puttin out Lil Style albums and a couple of other mothafucka albums and thats about it. And have my team smashin and movin, and on the charts.
So rappin is the back up plan right?Thats the backup plan for me, its not the get rich plan for me, It's so many ways you can get rich in the world today. I'm not tryin to do it off rap, I'm doin it because I like it, I'm doin it cause muthafuckas want me to rap, I'm doin it because I got a fanbase, and I'm doin it because god damn, its there in my face. Daz was my patna whether I'm rappin or not, I'm still gonna see Daz. If I don't ever do a rap song again, Daz still gonna see me on Christmas, Daz still gonna see me on holidays, Daz still gonna come fuck with me, smoke weed with me, whether I'm a gangsta , whether I'm a dope dealer, rapper, killa, hustla, don't matter, he still gone fuck with me, so since he here and we together and we fuck with each other, why not? He like my personality that I have already need to be marketed, just me period, the muthafuckas that you see in the movies and shit, thats me! But you know, shit , I just live my life, do what I do, keep it real try not to burn no bridges.
Yeah, if rap is the only thing you depend on, and you flop, your fucked!Oh yeah you assed out. Not me!! [laughs] I know muthafuckas want me to rap, Igot an ear to, I know, I hear shit, I'm a critic too, I grew up on rap. I grew up on all rap, I know.
Who did you grow up listening to?I listened to shit like Eric B. & Rakim, Queen Latifa 1st album, Slick Rick, muthafuckin Boogie Down Productions, Ice T, even Too Short back then, NWA, all that right there that was me, I grew up on all that. Special Ed, Quamay, all that kinda shit, I was even on the Leaders of the New School back then. I been on shit like that.
Who do you bump right now besides yourself?I been bumpin the Blacc Balled somethin' dangerously, but on the real though, lately I be on that 1970's type shit. But as far as in the game, bumpin really right now, like Breakin News by 40, what else....alot of old classic albums, I'm still listening to Murder Was the Case album, I be on them Funkadelics and shit like that.
How old were you when you appeared on Murder Was the Case soundtrack?I was 19 years old when I did that. And I wrote it in St. Louis.
While you were on Death Row did you ever meet and kick it with 2Pac, and what type of person do you remember him as?2Pac was my nigga. A spunky ass muthafucka that was just ready all the time, just a coo ass mothafucka to be around, loved to rap, loved to do music, loved to have fun and chill, loved to be around a gang of muthafuckas.
Did you do any songs with him at all? With Pac , I never got a chance to do no songs with Pac. But I knew him, and when I say I knew him I ain't talkin bout "Oh hey that's 2Pac." he would leave and be drivin and we would be in the car for hours on the road on the highway type shit. Smokin weed, smokin blunts, fallin' asleep, wakin up. That type of shit, not just "Oh, I knew him cause he 2pac."
Yup, alot of dudes try to use the fact they knew him to ride their career off, even people who didn't even know him all that much.Man, that shit is crazy, huh? Yeah, real talk. I be lookin at that shit to and be like damn thats crazy. I trip offa that kinda shit.
What do you think about the whole situation goin on between Snoop and Tray Deee right now?I don't even know nothin about that shit. I'm in the middle of this shit, I'm not in the middle involved but, I'm in the middle of Longbeach where people talk about that shit and all that but, I dont' even allow mothafuckas, we don't even speakl on that type of shit around here cause we talk about so much other positive shit, and good shit to where niggas in my circle don't have time to talk about what Tray Deee and Snoop doin. What they doin is what they doin. Rocchead Recordz over here and Rawway, we doin what we doin. We don't have time to sit around and really elaborate on that type of shit, I seen that shit in the newspaper, on how Tray Deee is in jail now and all that shit, that shit is crazy. But you know, shit.
Alot of people think the DPG/Doggystyle fam is falling apart, good to see theres still some positive things goin on.They dont even know, I am one of the original muthafuckas, Dogg Pound and all that shit. Before Tray Deee was from the Doggpound, before Soopafly was from the Doggpound, all that type shit, i go back before all that, I go back to day mothafuckin one.
What do you feel about Kurupt, and the situation with him goin to Death Row without tellin anybody? That's Kurupt's shit, he sittin around Snoop, they say, and he wasn't havin no money but Snoop havin' all the money! I mean, shit, what's he gonna do? If Suge's tryin' to offer you some money and your homeboy that you come in the game with ain't tryin to see you with nothin' or see you eat, I mean shit, what the fuck? You gotta do what you gotta do. Muthafuckas said the same thing about me. It's all on how you go over there and fuck with Suge, or how you do what you do. If you goin' over there just to make another mothafucka mad and thats some bitch shit. I didn't go over there to make Snoop mad, I went over there to get me some mothafuckin' money. Talkin bout they had a chance to sign me for $20,000 if I sign, yeah I'll sign that $20,000, cost me 3 years outta my rap carreer. But I didn't give a fuck. Look at me now, I bounce back, like round ball on they ass. My own record label. They can't beat that. With a heated album.
Yeah, I'm not that type of person, I'm a upfront bold muthafucka to the point if I signed to Death Row and I was with the homies still, I'd be like, yeah I signed to em and so? I'm over here everyday playin Playstation with this nigga and I ain't even got no money. I gotta get out and do somethin! The game is crazy, muthafuckas be like they your friends in this shit, but in real life they yo muthafuckin enemies, just like 2Pac said, that's some fuckin' true to life shit. I'm so happy man though, I got my own shit. I'm campaigning man, my shit is meant to be, my homeboy died homie, and my homeboy used to tell me if he had to hit 90 mothafuckas upside the head to get $90,000 and build a studio and put me in it and put me out, he'd do that. And for my homeboy to pass on me like that in the middle of when I was trying to get my rap shit back together, I mean shit, I had to just go on the run with this shit and be serious about it, man cause these streets is lockin mothafuckas up and sendin niggas to jail left and right. Gotta have some money out here.
Around when did your boy Rocc die?Last year. He would just come over my house and hear me playin shit and be like nigga I'm finna do this song right here, I'm finna rap like this, He be like "man you need to do that shit! Ah, nigga you playin you don't wanna rap, nigga you bullshittin, nigga I'mma get some money, I'mma put you in the studio, I'mma sign you to my label," you know just jokin with me and kiddin' with me. But it's positive criticism you know what I'm sayin. And then my homie passed on me and I'm like fuck that, I'm finna do this shit for my niggas. I know they gon look down on me and shine on me so, I'm finna run with that.
Do you still keep in touch with any former Death Row artists such as Swoop G, The Realest, or Topp Dogg?Nope. I see Swoop G cause Swoop G from Longbeach. So you know he come through the hood, or come through the city, I'll catch him anywhere on the skirts of Longbeach, but me and his relationship goes further then Longbeach. I might see him in Compton, I might see this nigga in LA or Watts, wherever I see him thought, we holla. But as far as all them other cats, no I don't see none of them dudes. Crooked I if he still on Death Row, yeah I see Crooked I all the time too. Last time I seen him he came over my house he was fresh outta jail. Out the pen.
Alot of people been wondering what Swoop's been up to since he left Death Row.Oh he left Death Row? Shit I don't know either, if he did either he got his release papers or just Suge was probly not fuckin with him, one or the other, I don't know the real or the scoop on that. Like I said, I seen him and he was healthy, he was straight, he was chillin, fresh outta jail.
What was the vibe at Death Row around 98, 99 when the main artis left and how was it compared to the way it used to be?It was like riches to rags. Like before when it was Dogg was there, and even before Pac was there, it was poppin. Like when The Chronic first came out, and then the Doggystyle album came out, oh it was big video shoots, bg traveliin, big chillin, big kickin it. Then certain things started happenin, different people started dyin, Snoop catch a murder case, that like slowed shit up, mothafuckas started fuckin with different homies from a distance. Then once a muthafucka got on Death Row, in like 98, I had already been over there in fuckin' 92, 93, not signed to Death Row, but just with Snoop. And if I was with Snoop all the mothafuckin time everywhere we went, that mean I was with the Death Row mothafuckas. i wasn't signed to em, but I was around em. So in 98, Suge wasn't even there, he was in jail. Reginald Wright was runnin the mothafuckin company. It was like if you wanted a check you had to wait 3-4 days because he had to call this mothafucka, she call that mothafucka, this one fuckin call that mothafucka and this nigga say yeah from jail. Then it get sent all the way back, and it was just a bunch of bullshit. It was like, wasn't none of my real niggas was over there anyway, like young Swoop was my only homie there that was around back then. All these other dudes, Top Dogg, Tha Realest, I don't even know the other people that that was signed to the label back then, that shows you how much I give a fuck or care. But them dudes, they was coo never, we never had no problems or nothin, but at the same time them ain't my homeboys. But I know them. If I seen them right now today its like, hey, wassup Style, oh wassup, blah blah, so on, so on. I'll holla. But yeah, I just try to keep it real and coo everywhere I go. Plus I move, I move right. I don't move with the bullshit, I don't be movin fake out here. Muthafuckas out here is cutthroat. I gotta keep just as much cutthroat mothafuckas around me as I think I can run into. Thats how I move around. Not payin' security or nothin , just havin mothafuckas with me that I know thats gon' get busy, they gonna get busy before I was rappin! So why they ain't gonna get busy if some shit jump, when I am rappin. That's ass backwards!
So back when y'all did that Chronic 2000 and Too Gangsta For Radio you didnt record it in the studio together?Hell nah. I did my shit, I probly was out the door. Waitin to go up to Death Row to get a check, I didn't get no money or no royalties still to this day. But I don't give a fuck, I'm finna get all the royalties off this Rocchead Recordz album. Blacc Balled. And I'm clownin, I'm talkin shit, I ain't dissin, but I'm clownin. The album, it ain't no fuckin joke, it's some real shit. The muthafuckas lookin for that real Longbeach shit and that shit to come out the Beach, then they lookin in the right direction, they lookin over here. I'm the grimiest.
You still cool with Crooked I right? Would you work with him on some shit?Yeah, Crooked I coo. It's possible. For writin' songs, ghost writing, it's possible for anything like that with Crooked I.
You ever gonna hook up with The Low Lifes again?Yeah them my lil niggas right there. I be seein them, we still shoot dice together.
What about workin' with Warren G? Man thats a toss up, I really don't know man. I been knowin Warren G damn near all my life too. Just as long as I known Snoop. He ain't ever even came to me and said "Ron, I got a beat, or Lil Style, I got a beat, cause that nigga still call me Ron. He don't ever come and say he got a beat for me or nothin, but you know, hey. I ain't worried about if he gon do a beat for me because you know how many mothafuckas make beats? But I don't have no problem workin with him. He do good production but I'm not finna go ask him homie. I'm not gonna never do no shit like that, I'm doin my thing.
Would you work any other artist droppin albums on DPG Recordz, like The Twinz or E. White?I didn't even know they was DPG artists. I doubt it, not shittin on em or nothin, I'm just sayin. They not in my circle, I'm in a whole different circle then them guys is. They in one circle man, I'm in another circle. That circle probly ain't mixing like water and oil. But I see them too, I holla at them when I see em. I see The Twinz, them my niggas. See, when it come down to just strictly Longbeach, we all see damn near each other all the time, it's nothin, it's not big deal. We holla, wassup my nigga, rah rah rah, but when it come to this rap shit and how they doin' this and that with the rap, it get kinda a lil political. There's a lil bit of politics goin' on. But its all good though, because I'm stronger then all that, that shit weak. A mothafucka let that keep em down, they ain't shit. I hold my own.
Would you ever work with anyone outside the West?Hell yeah! That's gon boost my career. I ain't no dummy. I'm trying to get marketed, and make it happen. I told you man, I'm willin' to work with anybody willin to work with me. If somebody hit me right now, and my album come out, and mothafuckin' Redman or mothafuckin, the Neptunes lil nigga, Pharrell, he hear my shit and be like "Oh that dude voice is sick! Oh he is gangster! Man he sound like a real fuckin gangster walkin through the stereo!" If he hear my shit and be like Man I wanna fuck with you too, I did the Beautiful song, I wanna do some grimey shit with you like I did Grindin, I wanna fuckin do some shit like that with you. You think I'mma say no? I'll be on the first thing smokin' to Virginia, or if they in LA, I'll be on the first thing drivin' up to the mothafuckin studio. Ready to work to work with Pharrell or who ever in the fuck else really wanna get down with me. Because that ain't gonna do nothin but better my career. I'm not an antisocial mothafucka, but I'm not a punk mothafucka, and I'm not no pushover type mothafucka. I'm not no gullable, or naive, or quiet mothafucka. Man I'm more of a rebellious type son of a bitch, and not with the bullshit. And gonna speak my mind if I see some funny shit goin' on, I'mma speak on it right there where it's goin down thats funny. Know what I mean? It's hard to find niggas like that. Thats how all my homies is. So just imagine ten mothafuckas like that movin' in a crowd together somewhere. Oh it's vicious! Everybody pushin' for one cause. Rocchead Recordz. Oohooo! Can't beat that!
So besides Scarface, other then him...I ain't even seen him, but I'm just sayin, you know I knew Scarface, I met him around the time I used to be with Snoop Dogg, I used to buy bud from him, chronic. When I used to be sellin lil bags of lil reefer and all that. Man, we use to do that.
But even if you don't talk to them this day, anybody out there gettin big radioplay and exposure that you might have kept it cool with that you might work with to this day?Man I can't even tell that you right now. Nope.
So who's the top rapper in your opinion out in the game? The one who keeps it real and makes the most cash doin his own thing.I think Jay-z is doin' a big, big, big fuckin thing in the rap game. [laughs] Cause everything he talk about be grimey, if people really listen to Jay-Z's shit, mam that nigga be talkin about some shit! "996 plus 4 more dough. is you crazy I'm loco with with dough papo." Do you know what he meant when he said 996 plus four more? It is 996 grams in a key of cocaine. He said "I got 996 plus four more dough, you crazy you fugazi I'm loco with dough papo." That nigga got 5 birds, he talkin bout even before he got in the rap game. Fuck this rap shit, nigga tryin to tell you on the slide like man, really mothafucka, this ain't my life first love, man. But I'm not here to be just talkin' about everything I done and be incriminating my god damn self. But yeah on some real shit, Jay-Z grimey and from another grimey mothafucka to another grimey mothafucka, i feel him. He might look all like Roc-a-Wear, oh Jay-Z with the Beyonce bitch, but the shit he kick on wax, you gotta be apart of that shit to know about some shit like that. A mothafucka can't just sit down and tell you no shit like that. And then you put it in a rap like that, you just can't do that. That mothafucka be sayin some shit. I be hearin it. "Nigga before then, you can call me the CEO of the ROC, ho!" Nigga like before then you can call me the CEO of regular rock cocaine. Yeah, he's grimey. I love that. Cause that's that hustla shit. And like he say on his album when he say the mothafuckin aThe niggas they love me, the bitches they love me, but the rappers they hate, but the hustlas will feel it, cause they at least feel glad to cause they see one of us make it" He killed em with that shit. That lil bar shit that he was rappin he fucked them up with that. "All the ballers be bouncin, off the sounds that I'm makin, all hustlas be hustlin, because... And all the rappers be hatin, cause the sound that I'm makin, and all the hustlas they love it, just to see one of us make it." Oh that nigga killed em with that! And I love to see he make it, so what that tell you? I gotta be a real nigga or a hustla because I love to see him make it. I ain't mad at him, and I'm a rapper. You know what I mean? And I ain't sold 500,000 copies yet. Not even sold 17, 18 million. And I'm still lovin it. Cause I'm a hustla, and I'm tryin to make it too. I'm gon' make it.
Yeah, there seems to be alot of hidden messages in even the most commercial and pop shit on the radio like that, for example "Grindin."Hell yeah! He talkin bout hard knock life, that mothafucka is talkin about grimey shit, and you think its all about the kids, cause they singin Annie. But listen to the song, the real song, without the radio edit shit, he talkin about some grimey shit on there. Standin on the block corners, poppin, droppin some of the hottest cars New York has ever seen, just killin' em with that shit. You know me well from lifetimes of a lonely cell. You know what I'm sayin? Shit like that, just killin em. So basically yeah, Jigga is a high influence on me too, havin my own record label. And then reppin for my own team.
You have any plans to act in a scripted move, small or big time role?Hell yeah, but it got to be me! I can't just be actin like some script they tell me to read and then, it gotta be like my character, like how I really am. Like Style, it gotta be based around Lil Style, cause I'm one big act my damn self. Just bein' real I'm a fuckin' character. I know that, people tell me that all my life. Yup. So muthafuckas, gotta marked me like Lil Style. You know how they got Eve? and she's Eve? Lil Style gotta be Lil Style. French braids, saggin, smokin weed, all that shit.
How much do you usually charge for a verse?Shit, it depends on who the person is. If they poor I'mma give them a poor price, and if they bout some paper and got a budget I'mma give them a budget price. And if they family or my nigga I ain't chargin' em nothin.
